Blog Candy Winner?

Blog Candy, it's a great way to spread the word about your blog. You generate a mass amount of readers, and perhaps even gain new interest of those that never knew you've existed. But I would like to warn Blog Candy givers. View profiles of those that leave you comments. Do they really exist? Are they people that visit daily, and appreciate your work, share the same passion that you do, or do you notice their existence ONLY WHEN BLOG CANDY IS POSTED?

Here is a testament of one of your "readers":

"I have won over 15 blog candies in the past 6 months. I've been sent prizes many a times, from all over the world, and have profited off of these people by reselling my "prize" on eBay. I subscribe to their blogs, and when Blog Candy is posted, I am there to leave my sad story comments. I pay nothing but a 20 cents fee to eBay, and a percentage of my sale. These people don't care a lick about who I really am, they just want the numbers of visits to their blogs to increase. That is an easy task on my end. How do I get them to practically "hand over their candy to me?" - I post a great profile, that's all. "

We know who you are. We know that you linger amongst us. We smell you! And yet, you still win blog candy prizes. Here's a pat on your back. We hope you feel great about yourself now.

Isn't it sad that there are vultures out there like this. I like to give blog candy simply because it is fun, but I have changed what I am offering from a big deal gift to little things that stampers can really appreciate but wouldn't sell.

To me the best blog candy is a hand made card made with love! I love getting cards that people have made especially if they use a stamp company that isnt sold by home parties. but dont ask me to tell me what you like best about your blog.
Ask a fun question or some silly complete this sentence with a fill in word. Because there may be nothing great about your blog and I dont want to offend you.

I get so cheesed when some have offered candy to pump up the visits and then never send to the winners. I just deleted a bunch from last spring that failed to arrive. What do you do? Contact them and say "where's my stuff?"

I won a cool set of stamps and figured I didnt have to order it from the catalog. waited and then it was discontinued. so I missed out---hmmmm wonder if that was deliberate? retired sets go for more on ebay.

I know one blogger who emailed the winner of the blog candy to tell her she won, then she decided it was the wrong "Susan" (names changed to protect the innocent) so she emailed the winner again to tell her that she didn't actually win after all. That's what I call skanky.

Hey, last anon, you beat that dead horse all over the place tonight on SCS. You know darn well that it was an honest mistake anyone could have made. I am tempted to contact the owner of that particular blog and let her know just how ungrateful some of her readers are. I wonder if a person could block a rude reader. This particular blogger has had a horrible time with people messing with her blog. I think one of the culprits just outed herself on SCS and you know who she is!!

i use to give out blog candy every week. i didn't do it to buy people or attract readers to my blog...i did it because i thought it would be a fun idea (it was on saturday nights). then i stated seeing the same people over and over, only posting on the blog candy posts, no other post. and some commenting that they came "just for the candy". so i stopped.

now i only do it on certain occaisions.

HEY! I think bloggers that don't send the candy should be listed/outed!!
