Back Orders and F***ed Up Online Vendors

I order tons of stuff on-line because I have few choices of quality in my area. When I select items for my basket, many sites have meters telling me how many of that particular thing are in stock. If it says 3 and I want 2, and I complete the order right away, I should be guaranteed to get them, right? Sometimes that happens but more often than not, I will get one or two things and a backorder slip by email (If I am lucky).

Sometimes, I will receive a note saying they over sold or some other problem. A few trinkets telling me I am a valued customer bla bla bla. And I never hear from them again. But I have been charged for the sold out items in full. So I contact them and they give me a half ass explanation but tell me they will send the items as soon as they are available. And nothing for weeks often months.

So why is it the MOMENT I send another email say 3 months later threatening with contacting my credit card, a miracle occurs? The back ordered items just came in the door that very morning! Every friggin' time! I am sick of this tactic because seller/vendors know how many items they have and can use software that takes the items off sale if they sell out. They are not Wal-mart or Target. They are in their garage with milk cartons full of stuff to mail out. That is their huge warehouse!

Now I have a problem with an on-line store who back ordered everything I purchased and charged me and when I emailed her only got auto generated notations saying she is on vacation, it's Christmas, she is overloaded with emails, and her website (now gone) is directing me to her ebay store (and her dozens of negative feedbacks) Good lord, why send me there? Now I know there is a big time problem. I just tried to file a grievance with my Visa and they want a receipt, only she never auto emailed one. Nice. I threaten her with Visa and she mysteriously is no longer overwhelmed with emails but has a cash flow problem so my refund might be late. And she is only in the office from 9-6 (really her living room watching crap tv)

The newest outstanding vendor (oh I so want to name them!) says I never made an order from them until this newest one (I am waiting on a back ordered stamp set for 9 months now) and they then sent me two of the same wrong items and when I complained, it was MY fault because I was the only person to order this stuff in the last 18 months and they had to scramble to get them. Another item had a price on it of 2.09 but the sale price was 3.99. I asked for adjustments and I was snarked at! Today I finally got the corrected items and now I have to send back the two things I was sent but didn't order on my own dime.

Can I name names just this once??? Please???

Is there something Wilde about it?

Wouldn't you be doing us a favor by naming names so that we wouldn't fall prey to this kind of poor customer service?

The risk of naming names is a lawsuit. Sometimes 99% of people have had a good experience with a company and the 1% who have not are vocal. On the other hand I have had quite a Wilde experience in the past and am not the only one.

Gotcha!

Funny! I'm clueless, but get the feeling that I should be Wilde about something. I'm going to have to do a search on that, and figure it out myself! Thanks for the hints!!
