As if the area isn't saturated enough, why the constant push to dilute the customer base? I have received dozens of solicitations from demos who I have never met, only reading their blogs. I naturally would get my own demo's offer (and she even sweetens it with some special offers I don't see elsewhere) but since the 1st of February, why so many? What is the kickback to them if I do sign up? Other than I will be their down line and they get a cut from my sales (which would be zilch anyways as I would only sign up for the original demo kit).
I have had a stranger walk up to me at Joann's (probably hearing me mumble and grumble about the shitty selections) and invite me to her home for a "stamping party". I could be a mass murderer (ah hell, I look too middle class for that). Been out to dinner with my family and had some tune into (eaves drop) the conversations (and I usually have an envelope of cards for show and tell so they gotta ask if I will sell them (no) or am I a demo (competition) the demos will approach me, start a oddball conversation and hand me their cards. Again, there are too many local demos. I have seen some blocks where every other house is selling something.
The economy sucks so bad that people are choosing between heat and food. I ran into this problem when I was a demo (for another company) and my up line was not nice about it. I was told to hold classes and the attendees would feel guilty and buy stuff even if they didn't have cash (she told me the going rate for a class was 10 bucks at that time). Took a check from someone and had it bounce (still have the order sitting here in a box-my one and only sale (to myself I guess-crappy sets I need to dump on Ebay). When I didn't meet my set goals (she set them, not me) I was cut off without even a "see you later".
Just stop the daily barrage. We read your blogs for other things, not solicitation. If we want stamps, we know how to seek you out. We have friends of friends of friends selling this stuff. That does not include the candle parties, the kitchen gadget parties, the baskets, the lingerie, the Amway crap. Many of you are doing double or tripple duty on this. And then the solicitations for sponsorship of your 3-Day (if you only knew how little the charity actually gets from your thousands, you would cry) and your kids camp and cookies and popcorn. It has to stop with the guilt trip begging. The answer is no. If I want something, I know where you are. I need to breathe!

If I see one more green Sell-a-Bration Catalog or Valentine "Bundle" (why the heck do they call it such a cheesy name?) or one more Demo Sign-up push I am going to scream. It is actually making me hate SU.
I like stamping so I can be original and creative and when I see that one Well Spent or whatever you call it SU set over and over and over, it is the last thing I want. I do NOT want stamps that everyone and his dog has!! I am sick of being solicited through blogs either from the SU demos or from the "design team hags". After I have seen the same set used 50 times in 50 blogs, I am so sick of it. Blog reading used to be fun, but this idea of EVERYONE making cards with the same darn set and all posting them the same day just completely ruins the experience for me.
That also goes for that darned umbrella set from MFT. How many ways can you color polka dot boots? It was cute the first few times, but after you have seen 4000 variations on that one set, you never want to see it again, much less own it!! Fastest way for me to remove something from my wish list is realizing everyone is already sick of it BEFORE IT IS EVEN RELEASED!!!!!
Obviously the OP (or OB?) didnt remember her bitching about bad spellers- she didnt use her Spell Check when she posted her rant!
Tripple????
BAH-HAHA
If you're gonna bitch about it, then then make sure you dont fall prey to it.
For the spelling error (I checked the entire post and there was only one) it probably slipped by as Blogger is having issues with their spell check. I reported it a week ago and they are working on a fix. It's a known issue along with the refresh buttons not working for some in new posts. It seems when Blogger has an update, they sometimes have a problem configuring some other parts of the code. Perhaps the writer didn't know of this and is not using IE to double check his or her spelling. I have no idea what sort of spelling software is built into alternative internet access programs. Does anyone here know?
Now honestly anonymous 2-could you have something a little more constructive to comment on-like the issue which the writer was addressing? Or can you only point out a simple error and make a mole hill out of it?
The correct term is "make a mountain out of a mole hill out of it"... and the OB who was pointing out the typo made one too and big deal...btw, there is no "spell check" in the comments in case you haven't notice.
I think SU has had a ton of people bail lately...they should really rethink their whole "pending" thing or at least rename it "sell or die" because that's what it really is. lol
I hate that you can't post links to the blogs in particular, that just isn't nice.
I actually don't mind seeing the same stamp used over and over, well to a point anyway. I like seeing how different everyone can make it look. :)
I will say that I have never been asked to demo for SU. I have never even been to a SU party before. I have checked into being a demo for SU but after reading this, I am not so sure. I live in an area where there is actually great potential for growth as there are very few demos around here.
Personally, I think SU is struggling. They are way behind the times with their product. No unmounted? No clear? Nothing really cutting edge at all anymore. They are losing demos right and left. After all, their stuff retires in 6 months and they have to buy more. The catalogs have to be replaced every 6 months too, and most demos need to give those to customers in order to keep customers happy. I know 3 demos right now who are pretty sure that they are just about done with SU. No money to be made and they keep you dancing so hard that you just cannot be hobby demo these days. If you do 10 Clubs you spend as much as you make supplying materials for the projects. No, SU has shot itself right in it's foot, and I think they are on their way out. Only beginners insist they can only stamp with wood. Once they move forward they are open to all these new wonderful companies that have options.
Speaking of wood mounted, did you see the JustJohanna sale set? LOL!! It is a set of 4 tiny wood mounts and you get to buy them at 25% off making them only $28 for the set plus shipping!! What the heck? It is a stupid basic cupcake set that isn't even cute. AND one of the stamps is a miniature owl????? What are they thinking????
As for SU, the stamps do not retire every 6 months. They have a retirement list every 6 months, which is used to weed out out if date products/styles. This list is for all things- paper, embellishments, scrap booking kits, stamps, etc.
The stamps that are new to this book this year are guaranteed for 1 year to be around.
And I don't think they are not struggling, they must be doing fine otherwise they would have gone made the switch to clear.
People will always come and go due to changes in their lives, it doesn't mean that SU! is struggling to make it. They run sign up specials every once in a while.
I am not a beginner stamper and I prefer wood, and I can think of several well known stampers who also make the same claim to be a wood mounted fan.
If you don't like SU! then get over your self and move on. Why do you waste so much energy hating on people for liking them? Nobody wants you to join SU! and with your less than friendly attitude, your bound to fail.
oh, and btw~ there is spell check in the comments field.
I have been on a SU advisory board and options for the stamps have been bandied about for the last year. I have always voted for rubber with option of UM. I will not vote for clear acrylics as I feel the impression on certain stamps is not the best. I can't divulge some of the other products but SU is behind the times and has lost footing especially with some of the higher ended options you can get at big box stores and some electronic places. But remember, If you buy thru SU a non-SU branded item, you will be charged more than the full price you pay elswhere. They will have to pay a fee to the other company while still maintaining their full cut for selling to you as a SU sell. I don't have the option of posting from Word on this computer with built in corrections.
Curious-where is the spell check in comments? I certainly have looked and see no button or drop down. I use Internet Explorer at the top of my browser. It told me the spelling was correct but I deliberately misspelled some words to check its authenticiy. I said my spelling was correct. I then loaded it into an email and did a spell check and it found 4 misspelled words. So for comments, it appears not to work. For the person writing for a blog, it does. Interesting.
But it's not just SU that is trying to recuite Demo's. It's all the Home based Stamp companies.
I'm going to vent now. I can't stand it when MK it all tell's other's that they can't do this or that, But yet MK does what she pleases.
It's really P**ses me off!!
Everytime someone on SCS say the word T*C she jump on them like Shark going in for the attack.
To be this isn't right.
for all the dummies among us-who is MK?
Is SCS just SU demos and samples? I joined years ago and never visit. I just don't have time (I unsubbed from all my Yahoo groups too-got tired of seeing the same old same old)
I would love a group that welcomes all stamp companies and I guess that is why I like blogs these days. JUst have to scroll thru until I find the companies I like the best(Penny Black, House MOuse,Impression Obsession)
Why is it that whenever someone doesn't like a comment, they attack spelling errors? I can read between the lines and figure out what they are saying! Everytime someone makes a negative comment about SU, some people take it personally. I don't know what's going on with SU but I do know that a lot of demos. have left the company. I don't think they would leave if they were happy.
SCS is all stamp companies. However in their image gallery you can only search by SU stamps, not other companies. But you can post whatever you want there, you just have to use the search to find things that aren't SU.
In regards to the original post, I don't think it was about SU specifically, but those crazy demos that SU does have that think they need to talk about it over and over and over, and think, hey if I bother you today, maybe today is the day you will sign up.
Better not say much negative about SU on SCS or they will ban your little butt so fast. Watch and see it happen. Especially happens to new people. They post a few posts and then say something they don't like about SU and poof, they are gone. I contacted a couple of them and SCS banned them early on before they could become part of the group.
Invite them here! Anyone is free to say what they feel like. Nobody gets banned. Bashed maybe, not banned!
SCS doesn't ban *ANYONE* for not liking SU! They happen to be able to view IP addresses and if yours has been previously banned (most likely for immature behavior)you will be removed yet once again.
They ban *trolls* who come in out of no where (usually have been previously banned) and stir the pot.
If you don't like SU!, then get over it and move on. Don't come in and try to cause drama. Why do you have to come into a thread with your negative crap, and complain about how much you don't like like it?
DON'T READ IT THEN.
I would imagine that a few of you here are probably banned from SCS yourselves.
I don't understand why if you don't like something so strongly, you keep surrounding your self with it.
Go to another message board, quit using their product, quit reading the blogs~ figure it out. You obviously don't like SU!, and we aren't trying to get you to like it. Nobody wants you around with your negative crap, and we are fine with you hating SU!.
The only gal that repeatedly gets banned is the one who repeatedly clicks her ruby slippers and makes yet ANOTHER screen name.
Notice the one/s who get banned-
1-10 posts with a recent-within-days sign-up date, and ALL her posts are rude and confrontational. Not what a normal new person to SCS does. She lives one life on her blog, another gw life and a nasty one on SCS.
Oh, and b-of-the-west here too.
Wow, just wow....multiple personality SCSer's and bloggers...who wudda thunk it?
I don't think most of the people posting here hate SU. I certainly don't. The stamps I have I really like-I am very choosy tho as to which I buy-none would qualify as the most popular sets. But that's it-just stamps. I think many of the business practices and the constant hard sell gets me and others down. And the bad mouthing of every other company and product not in the SU catalog! That was the tipping point for me.
Anonymous-if SCS can ban based on IP addresses, isnt that profiling? Someone may share a computer with another (such as my daughers and I did for a while-we are all memebers of SPS and) and you would ban all three of us if one of us made you unhappy? How fair would that be? I know what it's like to be banned from a group that I enjoyed and followed the rules on. I guess when I asked ONE question (why had I not recieved my swap card yet?) I and many others were booted. We had to re-apply and I was rejected. With no explaination. So much for following the rules. And being fair.
We are here to voice our concerns/objections/rants and bitching that had no other home. This is our voicing place. If you don't like it, dont come back. But obviously you need to be here too! Otherwise, why did you stop by and post your own bitch block?

Pardon me, Hoe - "Bitch Of The West " just so happens to be a very successful SU! Demo (12+ years with SU!), and I have never been booted off of SCS. Just because I own this blog doesn't mean I'm writing everything. I created this blog for us to vent, and anyone is welcome to vent about anything and everything. It doesn't bug me 1 teeny bit that my fellow writers hate SU! or SCS, that's what they've got to get off their chest, so what's it to you? They are just saying that SCS will ban anyone if crap like this is brought up, something I won't do. You probably had to post here, because you didn't get a chance to say what you wanted to say before the posts were deleted.
You don't even know who I am, nor who wore those ruby slippers, so make like a monkey, and fly away!
Maybe if we pour some water on the witch who hates Dorothy so much, we can make her melt so she doesn't come here and everywhere stalking a certain blogger who has had to close her comments due to this nonsense. Oh, and btw, the blogger is not an SCS'r.
What a bunch of miserable losers. Oooh Oooh, I have a great idea, I'm going to go to a blog where I talk shit about people I don't really know because they have nice crafts rooms and I don't. Then, I'm going to go to THEIR blogs (you know, seek them out and all that) and then complain about what they have (you know, that I went looking for), what they made, what sets or colors they used or what their photo looks like. Then, I'll complain when they post (on their blog, by the way) info about signing up or selling something.
Would you go to someone's house and complain about how they painted?
So that's what I'm bitching about here, miserable people who worry too much about what other people have and do, instead of appreciating all the things they have to be thankful for in life. I'm bitching about people who can have 20 great things happen to them one day and waste time and energy and emotion worrying about the 1 not so great thing that happened.
I'm sure this place will be wildly successful because what normal person doesn't like to be surrounded by misery all the time? Let's spend our day focusing on negaitve and all that is wrong with the world. FUN! FUN! FUN!There will be the visitors who also can't turn away from the train wreck but that will be it.
you ladies need to get laid and lighten up.

bwaaaa-ha-ha-ha, love your comments.
It's good to see that bitch in you come out as well. You make us proud! Scream baby, scream! Feels good, doesn't it? Come on, do you REALLY think we're that miserable? We're not trying to prove any points other than giving you a place to vent and tell people you don't even know (who by the way, could possibly be your favorite stamping friend) a thing or two. Point made.
You are also exercising your freedom of speech, just as we are. For that, your comments will never be deleted like it would be on any other channel. Thanks for wasting your time here, and come back again real soon! Your bitchiness contributes to our success.
Ask around. More than one person has been banned over the years simply for dissing SU. Happens a lot!
This...is...hilarious!
I admit it-I need to get laid. Who would you suggest?
OMG!!!! HAHAHA!!! Yes Allison this is hilarious!
I learn something new everyday...I don't "belong" to SCS and I never knew they banned people from there?? What power!!! Geesh!
...hang on let me spell check my comment...OK...whew safe!
I am a really nice person IRL, a SU demo and an SCS'r and I will tell you it feels gooood to release my inner bitch. You would probably be shocked to find out who I am lol
MK stands for Miss Know (it all)
MK just got in my face way to much the other day telling what I could and couldn't do on SCS..I've been there way longer than her and I even get involved on SCS. She on the hand has been involved in anything.
As for People getting the boot on SCS. I have a friend who has been booted off at least 2 times now.
For Speaking up about a company Sharing her point of view.
Each time she was booted off for 4 months.
And it's not the IP address that They go by your email address.
Once she changed her name to see if she could get back in...NO Way.
This is a great place to come an Bitch!!! Can't do it anywhere else except Bitchen at my Dh or Cat's.
Thanks for having this site!!
Oh yeah I forgot to say. SCS is not only for SU, But other stamp companies are there too.
I'm one of those other companies.... But I love using SU stamps and Cardstock.
Yes, SCS will ban ENTIRE servers in small areas in order to keep off someone whose political opinions they do not like. Been there, done that. Changed email addresses and it makes no difference. They DO track your IP number and sometime ban entire groups of people using the same small server rather than let a dissenting voice speak. If I owned a site like that I would only ban for advertising or vulgarity--not for not worshiping at the shrine of SU or Mormonism or conservatism. We need a NEW big forum that allows for non-SU loving conservative Mormons to have a voice.
Correction: that should read non-SU, non-conservative, non-Mormon.
Isn't that what we have here? I don't sell SU, I have no religion and I am about as left of center in politics and life as you will get without advocating radical violence.
People who get banned on SCS get banned because they violate the terms of service, including rude and harassing behavior towards other members, using the site to advertise products, posting spam, and having more than one user ID. Read all about it here:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13655
I've heard there is a troll on SCS that keeps coming back and posting and getting banned because she has created more than one ID. She just keeps coming back over and over and getting banned over and over. It doesn't have anything to do with her opinions on SU or any other company.
Personally, if it were me, I wouldn't bother to come back to a site that didn't want me around. I'd be kickin the dust off my sandals and moving on. There are plenty of places on the internet to discuss whatever you want to, including here, without having to be on SCS.
I honestly think SCS is banning new posters all the time. I see them disappear. So---I got my sister, who had never posted there before to go on and make 3 non-controversial posts in 3 of the forums. Yep, banned! She cannot get back in now.
Yah, riiiiiiiiiiiiight.....
It is true ...SCS will ban a person that makes negative comments about SU! I was there a few days ago and was reading in the general comment section. A young lady made a comment about how expensive the latest stamp set are and so on. Those committed SCS/SU members attacked her like hungry "she wolves"! One devout SU member said that SU grows their own trees for wood! Getting back to the story, the poor girls comments were deleted. The reason I know this is because another "she wolf" came to SU's defense with her comments and realized that the girls comment had been removed. I guess in order to maintain ones status at SCS, you have to "see no evil, speak no evil and hear no evil"!
Actually, some were banned for talking about the high prices in the mini coming out March 1 with SU. You dare not suggest that SU is anything but God's perfect gift or you will have to use a proxy to get in from then on. This is PARTICULARLY true if you anger certain of the regulars there. They seem to have the power to get people banned in an instant if posters don't agree with what they think.
I love SU but I can see why they would lose demo's. They've almost priced me out of the ballpark too. Plus whoever is designing their stamps lately the last 2 catalogs have sucked big time. What's with the double line images. Ugly. While I'm at it. I HATE MFT stamps what's with the headless bitches and who would like them? I think those are the UGLIEST STAMPS ON THE PLANET. I also think HANNA stamps are a close second ugliest. Quit with the headless wonders already. I couldn't believe how many DT hags think those are the cutest stamps ever. They look like linda blair from the exorcist with NO head. I just read the characterization DT hags...perfect way to put it.... and everybody is so sugary on their blogs. You know damn well those bitches hate each other. Don't give me that crap.
Now the price of shipping is going up for SU orders! Obviously the company is losing money! My friend told me that the price is even increased for her supply orders! The have so much competition I would think they would be careful about these things. Especially with the clear stamp phenom sweeping the stamp world!
My SU demo gives me free shipping over 50 bucks and she pays my sales tax over 150 AND I get the home party goodies too! Nice deals but I still find myself ordering less and less each year.
