Let's Talk Candy!
So been blogging awhile and I am just shocked how many times I have never received blog candy that I have won. In more than one case, these people are "well known" (they have an online store or are on a design team) - WTF? How about you and shall we start "naming names"?

I must be an exception. I have won 4 times and received 4 times. Lovely stuff, too!
I have at least nine outstanding blog candies I won dating back to last May. I Have given up on them . I keep track in my Reader of their blogs and they often offer it almost every week but I have no idea if anyone actually gets any. I wonder how many don't send when they figure out how much postage is to Canada or the US? It would be better to restrict to local postage rather than disappoint someone.
I see there is blog candy here now! Well, there arent many entries so far tho. Gotta go enter my photos if I can dig out a camera in my mess.
I WON AN ACTUAL PRIZE FOR THE MOST VOTES WHEN I SUBMITTED A CHALLENGE ON A NEW SITE BACK IN NOVEMBER...NEVER TURNED UP..A FRIEND ACTUALLY WON BLOG CANDY OFF THE SAME WOMAN IN NOVEMBER ALSO & SHE NEVER GOT HERS EITHER,WHY OFFER THE SH#T IF YOU CANT AFFORD TO SEND IT!POSTAGE ISNT THAT EXPENSIVE YOU USE YOUR BRAIN & CHOSE LIGHTWEIGHT ITEMS TO SEND!
I say...start naming...maybe then they will stop offering if they don't plan on sending...ever! I haven't had that happen to me, but I would think after about well...lets say a month...you ought to have your goods right??? Maybe you should have a whole section on this blog...like a "lost and never found blog candy"!
I like that-lost and never found! at least the gifter should let the giftee know if they are running behind on mailing. I have had a few do that and i'm okay with it. I have run behind because of illness or car problems myself and posted to my blog that I was slow but not a flaker.
I just wanted to post to say that this site is exciting, exhilarating, and waaaaaaay to addicting. I have you on reader, and this is one of the 1st sites I check out first thing in the morning. It is an escape from the "happy I love crafting" world, and just a real place to crack myself up. Thank You! I love this site, I'm not a bitch-er, but I enjoy reading about everyone's bitchin'. Sure makes me smile.
Ok, So how many of you are guilty of going to the blog strictly for the blog candy... I know I've won a few times and so far there's only one I haven't received. It had a cute Noah's ark charm that I was looking forward to getting so I was a little disappointed. And...I have had one of my e-mails go to the junk mail folder or the person I e-mailed it to so maybe that's what's happening to you too when you don't get the candy. Hate to sound like a kid in a candy store who wants everything, but I've made a note on all my e-mails that I send regarding blog candy that the person I sent it to should confirm that they actually got my e-mail and address. Regardless what you say I think Blog candy ROCKS!
I think it is funny that some people have a mysterious profile and no blog...those are truly the people looking for candy...probably the one who also turns around and sells it on ebay!
For some of the candy, It was the thing I originally went to look at. I used Allison's list for candy and new found blogs to seek out unusual blogs to start. I then added them to my reader and that is why I am over 850 blogs in Reader now. I like scrolling thru them every day (some are cooking ones and some political). But the candy idea I think is cooling off. I enter very few of them anymore unless they are fun silliness or a hi di ho greeting. If I like your blog, I will be back regardless of candy. I come to see the art and the creativity. And thanks Allison for tipping so many blogs to the masses.
I love that blog candy is getting much less showy. Used to be people gave out gifts in range of $50-100 in value. To me that seems like they are trying to buy readers. I feel that the person who offers a bit of something they treasure such as a set of cards, a single stamp, a selection of ribbon---are really in it for the sharing.
I give out "sweet candy pieces" every 10K, but not to buy my readers, but to give back to those that keep coming and checking out my stuffs. I make them play lil' games, but never asking them what of mines is their favorite(s). Candies I give away are always sent, might be late, but it's always sent.
I remember reading somewhere that a blogger was going to send Blog candy to a winner in Canada, and found out it was too expensive to send (like $40), so she had to redo the blog candy giveaway again. I remember feeling so sorry for the winner. But there are so many other options in shipping to Canada, or wherever else it's going to. You just gotta check and see, change the shipping options around, and go with the cheapest. I've sent a whole bunch of stuffs to Allison (who is also in Canada), from Hawaii for $12, or just a card for as little as $1. The stuffs Allison does for this community is priceless to me, as well as the readers that continue to read my blog and post genuine comments. SO $12 is pretty "manini" ("small" in Hawaiian). I can tell who is really there being sincere, and whose just stalking me for Candy. Cause that's the only time they come around! And whomever the winner is, I definitely make sure that person is going to get it - near or far.
I've posted comments here n' there in hopes that I might win something, but that never happens. So I gave up in trying for their contests, and just stuck to giving stuffs away myself.
"SCP" to be given away soon for my 50K mark. So stop by for your chance to win.... sorry, don't mean to advertise, but thought since I'm posting, might as well let you gals know.
I enjoy seeing what others offer in terms of blog candy. I did offer blog candy and I am happy to say I enjoyed putting together the goodies to send to the winner (which she did receive). I don't always enter blog candy "contests", I like to participate in the ones that I visit frequently and comment on. I am like Jan, I visit a lot of them to find new blogs. Jan's crazy though to have over 850 blogs on her blog reader, I can't even keep up with the 100 posts I get a day ;-) Just giving you grief Jan
I don't have a blog and I post comments on the blogs both when they are offering candy and not. I don't have time for a blog. Doesn't mean I am only there for the candy. Maybe I am the anomaly.

I always get what I win too, I guess it's the luck of the draw.
I've never won anything.
