More than anything, I hate the management part of my job. I hate managing employees who act as if they are in high school
For example, I have one employee who has some medical issues going on. I’ve been flexible for a while while they are out with medical appointments, but there comes a time when the work isn’t getting done that I have to firm up and remember there is a job to do. When I ask that you give me a little notice of when your appointments are, I didn’t mean the night before, or a phone call the morning of. You can’t tell me you didn’t know when they were. Be an adult, take responsibility and let your manager know AHEAD of time that you will be out for several hours a day with NO intention of making any of the time up or getting the job DONE.
Act as if you care when I have to write you up, show a little bit of anger at having to be written up in the first place. Or don’t you give a shit that you have a job at all??? If you don’t, let me replace you with someone who may be grateful that I gave them the opportunity.

Employees who don't give a shit
Why is it that you try everything you can to get a job and then once you are there, you let all the shit fly out the window like you never cared about the job to begin with???

Amen to that! I'm so tired of those who work part time and feel that their job should be as convenient to them as possible, with no mind that we are trying to run a business! I schedule for two departments, and have people who only work evening and Saturday. But oh, can't work that Saturday or that Saturday, and if I work that one, I have to leave early... Oh, and I've only worked here for 18 years and can't be left alone! UGH! Thanks for the opportunity to vent :)
what about smokers on the job who take more than enough breaks through out the day. Including a lunch hour! They act as if they deserve these smoke breaks. The rest of us are working are asses, off while you are smoking and talking your day away! If you're going to go on smoke breaks, don't over do it, leave then return. Thats all we ask of you, and I'm sure your managers would love that too.
Well.....I'm a smoker and I try to respect the people that don't smoke and so on. What bugs ME is working with a person that talks all day about NOTHING! I know everything about this persons family and friends and I have never met them. It wouldn't be so bad listening if they had something to say! They are so boring, the same monotone voice. No wonder I take so many breaks, this person is driving me NUTS! Get a freakin life!!!!!!
Or those people who say they are working, but they are working on the phone with their personal life all day long...and they wonder why the work is not getting done on time?
And if you are going to come in to work late, don't turn around half hour later to take a damn lunch, couldn't you have grabbed something before you came in???
Wait. You mean when I come in an hour late I don't get to leave an hour early?!?
Naw, that can't be ...
Hubby was telling me about a old boss he had who he walked in on several times playing solitaire on the computer in the middle of a major disaster. No one went to his retirement party. Now they find out he is available for consulting (this guy made 300 grand to play poker?) NO wonder GM has big time problems-its equal in both salaried and hourly.
I have an employee like this right now. For one thing he is an agency employee and is yet to be hired "ft permanent" you would think he would be on his best behavior. Since being hired as a temp-to-hire he has been late everyday, called in "sick" to get a cousin out of jail which turned out was himself for a DUI, left early one day to get drugs for a yeast infection from Tijuana. Now he has been off because of supposed burglar and the detective had to come to the house to check it out. Was council ed on what the expectations of hours were to be 9-5 and has either called in sick or been late everyday since being told. The only thing he cares about is sex, drugs and rock and roll and it's obvious. Yikes
