Euphemisms

Why do people say someone has passed away? Or just passed? Passed what? Gas, the dish of potatoes? It bugs the crap out of me! They died-it happens-to all of us-period.

Why is an animal put down? Down where? The basement? Under the table and off my lap? A put down is a slam verbally. They are euthanized-a decision from the soul of the human that is rightfully hard to do, but there is a name for it.

A dog or cat is not fixed-they are either neutered or spayed. They had nothing broken unless you consider the stupid owners who let them continue to breed. We don't say we are fixed-we say we were "snipped", tied or neutered, right? Stupid ways to describe it, too. Use the real words.

We need to start using the correct terminology for our actions, people. You will not find it easier to do or talk about by using fake words. There is so much slang with so many different ways to interpret. Just the whole soda or pop debate is enough to make me blow a gasket.

Anybody else got any descriptive words that drive them bonky?

some people certainly think I am a machine-they figure all they have to do it punch the buttons and it gets done. I am on auto pilot-biding my time and sneaking off funds to bolt the rat race.

How about new and improved. Not necessarily what you were referring to in your post. But how can everything be new and improved and what was wrong with it in the first place? It looked just fine to me
