Have you seen

this thread on SCS:

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=353171

People are PISSED that the technique posted by Claudia was somewhat "stolen" word for word from the Technique Junkie Newsletter....

So what are YOUR thoughts?!

As for me, I could care less... this is simply a pathetic way for me to invite others to bitch on our site.

Personally, I could care less, either. And I applaud your attempts to get people to bitch! Hmmm... maybe we are all just content and not bitchy lately? Ya think? ;-)

I personally believe it's about time SCS had some drama and stopped being the "happy family" that they pretend to be. You know they're all bitches on the other side of the computer and are complaining left and right about people stealing their ideas. If you dont' want it stolen (which it can't even be), get a book published or keep it to yourself.

Yes, it is about time that SCS allows some bitching to happen, and not hide and DELETE the posted bitching. High Five, SCS! LOL!!!

I am a 4 or more year subscriber to TJ and I love getting that little paper flyer every other month. I know you really can't copyright a technique but if someone copies something word for word, how fair is that? I sometimes will show an finished idea to my SIL or my daughter but they have not been given access like the password etc and I don't think they have even seen the paper newsletter. I paid for it and would expect them to do the same. What, 10 bucks a year for the cd version is pretty cheap considering I use it more than most magazines I subscribe to.

As for SCS-I let that bunch (insert your own nasty words here) go a long time ago. Elitists, braggarts, liars, just plain fakes. Not worth my time, and for those who say they never heard of TJ, ha ha. Its been mentioned a lot over there and on many a blog-it's advertised in lots of places.

We all know the rules for using the special password at TJ and I wonder how many are passing it on to their friends and splitting the cost of the newsletter-or not at all. HOw fair is that to Pat and her talented bunch? She gives away so many freebies each month in stamps and ideas on her blog , so why steal what she is paid for? Its what, a couple of lattes at Starbucks?

At the very least, there should be a credit of some sort given to TJ with Pat's permission to load it on SCS. ANd honestly all those saying why pay for something when you can get it for free? I made a beautiful cross stitch pattern years ago as a BD gift for my hubby to have on his desk. It took me weeks to do this-I used a defunct company logo for the original idea but I did the charts, resized it and stitched it all in gold and silver-took me a year to do. hubby's boss liked it and asked if I would make him one and I said sorry no-it was one of a kind and special and took so long. so hubby's boss borrowed it while hubby was on vacation and took it to someone who made him one passing it off as his own (Long story how I found out). I was devastated and hubby since has not left anything personal on his desk at work-NOTHING! He keeps his special things here at home. How fair was this to me?

So many women pass themselves off as christian and holier than thou but will steal anything they can find plus more. Just really wrong without permission to use this stuff and not give credit where due.

I was recently working on a cookbook with someone and she gave us a recipe to try. I did and while I didn't like it much, I photographed it and saved it to my archives for later. Unfortunatly, I hit publish instead of save. I did not have the recipe listed only the title. The woman went ballistic on me! Some of you on this list know about it. I did a google search and found almost exact if not similar recipes for the same thing. If she has invented a food or process it would have been fine but she didn't. But I would have expected her to give credit to whoever at the very least. There are few unique ideas anymore but if you make something better at least say where you got the original idea from. Its only fair.

I find this very funny!

Who or what is the Daven referring too? Who is DC and Jt? I know who Ruby blog referrs to. Now you have me curious.

DC from ruby slippers, she stole an idea from JTinks blog and copped it as her own. Didnt give any shout-outs to Tink.
Hag.

Oh please, SCS is a bed of roses compared to the likes of 2Peas. You want to talk about lyin' phonies? I think she should have credited Pat at TJ and asked her permission before claiming that tutorial as her own. Pat works hard on that pub and site.

I have found that the more women you get together in an enclosed area (an internet group?) the more the talons come out. Everyone thinks they are best and that no one could possibly have more talent then them. 2 Peas true. SCS true. Even some of the yahoo groups. I was in one for a long time and it got so bad, people were stealing PIFs and using God as a witness that they weren't. I only keep in contact with one member now. We never discuss that group because We respect each other and out individual talents.

I'd love to know which technique ruby slippers stole as her own! I've searched her blog but am unsure which one you are referring to.

Too funny...sick to death of people worrying about someone stealing their "unique" placement of a bit of ink. Like the bitchin peoples. Thanks for the laugh
